The Artist: Guillermo Arismendi
Guillermo Arismendi paints with both oil and digital mediums, infusing boundless energy into each practice. The abstract artist Kandinsky would be envious at the array of digital tools available to Arismendi to express his inner dance.
"The choreography of colors and lines is guided by a nonverbal creative trance. The beauty of mathematics also inspires me a sense of accuracy and discipline, acting as a counterpoint of the wildest creative impulses."
Guillermo Arismendi
The Collection: SuperRare 1 of 1s
Instead of minting collections, Guillermo shares his creativity one at a time. With over 115 minted artworks on SuperRare since March 2022, his capacity to mint generously is widely supported by collectors like BatSoupYum and MintFace who pick up on his electric energy. The rhythm often expands outwards from a central point, with Arismendi the conductor, shaping the chain reaction of colors as they jettison outwardly.
A Specific Artwork: Musical Box
The pastel yellows spark against a golden hue background with the stage set on a hurriedly constructed plinth. It is as if a Harpsicord has been strung too tightly and all its musical innards were forced outwards to relieve the tension. The squared up shapes bring volume as the darting lines bring motion on top of the rectangular shape that provides depth and a base for the show.
A Specific Artwork: Once Upon A World
In contrast to ‘Musical Box’, ‘Once Upon A World’ has its energy contained inside refractive glassed walls. The impending cataclysm held from a precious few more milliseconds as the lightwaves and rainbow refraction hint towards. The viewer is treated to an eye level appreciation further intensifying the gaze towards the tangled centre mass of pre-fusion lines.
