The Artist: Cowboy Killer
A sense of stillness is conveyed through how light dapples and composition directs photographed subject matter that questions our very urbane existence. The color in Cowboy Killers work is drained out of existence and what is left is a scene of apologetic paralysis. The Swedish have a word ‘förlåt’ which roughly translates to an expression of regret or sorrow. Joey is photo documenting the post oasis concrete peels of America overlapped with his own place in the suburban simulcrum. ‘ALL LOST’ and ‘Tired’ show the most recent förlåt expressions from ‘C.K.’, as his ardent collectors call him.
